TIPC (Taiwan International Ports Corporation) launched its green port initiative and addressed future planning for seven main ports in Taiwan. The ports of Keelung and Taichung started the process of introduction of Ecoports port environmental management system and certification with the support of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the National Sun Yat-sen University. Both ports received their status of ECOPORTS PERS certified port after the positive validation of their Ecoports port environmental documentation by the independent auditor Lloyd's Register.
