ECOSLC Foundation congratulates Administración del Sistema Portuaria Integral de Ensenada, S.C. de C.V., Mexico, on achieving ECOPORTS PERS Certification in January 2022 for the third time.

EcoPorts PERS is the only environmental and sustainable management standard that is fully tailored to the specific roles and responsibilities of ports.

The standard requires, amongst others, that the port presents an overview of the main environmental and sustainable impacts of its port process. This is a basis for realizing improvements in this by applying environmental laws and our own environmental policy.

With this renewal of the certificate, the port proves that it is prepared to continue the process of continuous improvement of the impact of its port process in terms of the environment and sustainability. In doing so the port is also continuing its membership of the global network for sharing practical experiences between EcoPorts Certified Ports.

The continuous improvement of the port process often requires the introduction of innovations and new approaches in the port process. This can lead to improvements in environment and sustainability effects of the process but also to the positive effects of the port’s business model.

This global Network is also intended to contribute to the greening of the port sector.

The Ecoports Management system is offered outside Europe by ECOSLC Foundation, located in the Netherlands via the ECOSLC website (www.phpstack-907308-3539791.cloudwaysapps.com). Compliance with the EcoPorts PERS standard is independently assessed by LRQA (Netherlands. The certificate has a validity of 2 years.
